Privacy

Your privacy, in plain words

We collect as little as we can. We never sell it. Here is all of it.

What we collect

You can use this whole site without telling us who you are. The maps and the phone lines are open to everyone.

If you want to talk to ARIA, our AI helper, we ask for one thing: your e-mail. We use it to send you a sign-in link and to count how many messages you send each day. We do not ask for your name, your address, or your phone number.

Kids under 13

This site is for grown-ups and teens. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. This follows a law called COPPA, the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act.

If you are under 13, please do not sign up to talk to ARIA. Ask a parent or another trusted adult to help you. If you think a child under 13 gave us an e-mail, write to us and we will delete it.

What ARIA does with your words

ARIA runs on Claude, an AI made by a company called Anthropic. When you ask ARIA a question, your words go to Anthropic so ARIA can answer. Please do not type a child's name, a photo, or where anyone lives.

We may keep what you and ARIA say for up to 7 days, to fix problems and to stop people who misuse ARIA. After that we delete it.

What we do not do

The one thing from another company is the map, and only if you choose to open it. See "The maps" below.

Cookies and your device

We use one cookie, and only after you sign in. It keeps you signed in. If you open a map, TheBrain may set its own cookies too. If you talk to ARIA, the chat on your screen is kept on your own device. It goes away when you close the tab.

The maps

The maps on this site are shown by TheBrain, another company. A map loads in the page on the Decision Chains map page, and elsewhere only when you tap "Open the map". Until then, TheBrain gets nothing from you.

When you open a map, TheBrain loads its own files. Some come from other companies, like X (Twitter) and Google. TheBrain may also set its own cookies. TheBrain has its own privacy rules.

When you use the search box in the ARIA window, the words you type go to Google's Programmable Search to find government pages. We do not send your name or e-mail.

Our records

Our computer logs only count things, like how many questions ARIA answered today. They never hold a child's name, and never hold what you typed.

Questions, or delete my e-mail

Write to Project Milk Carton, 137 Oak St, Elko, NV 89801. Tell us the e-mail you used and we will delete it.
